There are several ways to get involved with the Psychology Department, all of which will increase your understanding of and experience in psychology. Students may join organizations such as Undergraduate Psychology Organization (UPO), which has open membership, or Psi Chi, which is a national honorary group for which one must qualify (for requirements click here). Both organizations have more information available on Blackboard.
Also, attending talks sponsored by the department is another way to become involved. Additionally, it will provide another venue to interact with professors and learn about research in the area. For information on events such as symposium and colloquium, see the links or the department's main page.
Participation in research either as a subject or an experimenter is another way to become involved in the department. For information on becoming a research participant in a study, see Experimetrix, which is an online recruiting system through which experimenters can find participants. For information on becoming more involved with research yourself, see our page on joining a lab.
